PM me if you're interested.

I'm currently working for an engineering firm at kota kemuning and my boss is interested in looking for application for interns. Yes, there will be ALLOWANCE Cheesy we are only looking for ENGINEERING STUDENTS for internship in the engineering department.

There's no dateline so anytime anyone's interested, do PM me. But i'm not so sure about spaces since if we hired the numbers that meet our requirements then we'll stop taking in interns Smiley

erm... I think most colleges let their students out for internships for certain months only... My college is every Nov-Dec...

Shah alam not too bad... My friend got sent to Port Klang before... Allowance can't even cover his petrol expenses. Grin

Depending on the next semester, I might be available again in May. Wink
But since I have fulfilled my quota of internships... Might be looking for better paying part time job lol.

Hm nope, if you basically quit college and work outside--regardless part time or full time, you are WORKING. Internship are basically short--3 months to hald a year (depending on the college and uni). Plus, its normally a requirement by the coll/ uni to undergo the practical training to meet quota, and to prepare a report at the end of the training where you might or might not be graded separately.

Internship mah, it's more like helping you gain insights to the working world and get a glimpse of work you might be doing in future. Say after you graduated and started hunting for jobs, when your employer found out that you have undergo internship b4, they are more prone to hire the candidate I guess (in comparison to another inexperienced fresh grad). But i think the best thing abt internship is the chance to move from 1 dept to another. I don't abt the others but last time in my internship i actually went to 4 different depts in 4 months' time and you can observe different things.

Yah, the pay is kacang compare to working. My internship last time better still, they dun even pay you summore exploit the interns. most companies nowadays are comparably better...

I wonder why overseas university never offer internship
many are offering their student a chance to go out work for full salary and 1 years which they call sandwich program
like what I have did in my diploma time , I went out work for 1 years with 2k salary

why college in malaysia offer internship where they last only like 3 month and have peanut pay rather than ask their student to go out work for 1 years with full salary ?

point distribution is as below
20 for pros reason
20 for cons reason
20 for example
20 for presentation
20 for misc

^^; well again, i believe its up to the uni.

Malaysians if work 1 year liao, some might continue working and abandon studies - thinking that there's no diff between them working now or later. Anyway there's a lot of different POV concerning internships (and many other issues)... as a matter of fact there are parents who believe there's no value in it at all Sad

in my opinion, internship is a great platform for students to be introduced to working like dogs
besides that, you actually learn more from your work rather than what you studied

anyway, just wondering, is it currently a compulsory to do an internship here in msia for students?
during my student-life-days, we didnt have any internship program. we had to look ourselves for companies to work as interns...

Eh? What work?

Currently goyang kaki at my company... Bored like hell that's why don't wanna go for more internships... (done 3 internships at different companies, but only 1 company gave me something to do...)

Actually, it all depends on the college/university your in. Some places make it mandatory, while others (Such as TARC a few years back when I half-did my advance diploma) only 'recommends' doing it in the semester break. No forcing, and no grading but still have to write report. Grin

Riiiiiiiiiight most service industries wanted to give their students a glimpse of what they will be doing in future, thus introducing internships. For all i know, students in the hotel line all must do internship (whether at the end of studies or in the middle), like KDU, Taylor's etc etc.

But again, the downside of internship: they treat you like slaves sometimes and make you work your @ss out, whether its within the boundaries of what you should do or not. That was what i hated about it... the good thing, as i pointed out in previous post is that you get experience and it somewhat filled a portion of your resume =.=
