aik, i was thinking how come this topic is not in this section! it was such a buzz when it was first out...! i nearly stole its gigantic poster at the Amcorp Mall cinema (there was NO ONE around the cinema except me and my friends!) =___= ... it was so tempting...

anyway i watched it... nice, i'd say, as expected from Death Note. However they missed some details, making those who'd never read the manga/ watch the anime--confused as to why and how come this and that happened etc. plus, the first part was kinda boring, with modfication of the original story here and there. well as we know raito found the death note in his school, but in the movie, they changed to a back alley when it was raining. and suddenly raito had a childhood friend in the movie...

if you ask me whether fujiwara tatsuya is convincing as kira, well... i liked most of his j-dramas and his pretty boy features (hahaha) but somehow in death note, i feel something is not quite right but can't tell what it is. his acting is convincing and he was evil in the movie... but...

the good part was L (or Ryuzaki)!!! the actor--Matsuyama Kenichi is such a good actor and he resembles the L in the manga soooooooooooo much! i was so tired of waiting for his appearance coz he's only out in the 2nd hour :'( ... and the way he chew on the chocolates, sweets and desserts made me hungry in the cinema!!!!! Hehe matsuyama kenichi as L is cool although my friends commented brutally about his gothic-like eyes and look, he's still my fav character!

now im anticipating part II of this movie!!!

Well... the movie was ok. It is expected coz I read the manga and I've been spoiled from it. heheheheh
Y'know... I thought that the Misa actress is as cute as I thought Misa would be but... she's not.
They need to find a much more whiny voice actress to star as Misa and also color her hair blonde. hahahah
It makes the movie as weird as their manga and anime counterpart.

I thought the changes made the movie easier to be understood. But maybe it is just me, many of my friends who hasn't read the manga nor watch the anime liked the movie and was converted to watch the anime instantly. XD

I haven’t read the manga nor watched the anime but I intend to watch the anime when it completed.
The question is if I watched the movie will it spoil the anime that much. Huh
 You know like I don’t need to watch the anime any more. Undecided

The movie is different but the result was same. Skip the movie if you don't have the manga knowledge.

My opinion would be watch the movie for fun, and read the manga/anime if you want a more in-deph version of it.

I went and watch part 2 of Death Note 2 weeks ago and i really like it ^_____^ i like how they twist the story to make it suit for a short movie instead of filming more. But at the same time i was also disappointed coz this meant that there's no more L and Raito ;___;

DN 2's ending is somewhat similar to the ending of the manga (on Raito's part only) and of course, as expected, they changed some aspect of the movie. I didn't follow the anime, so while i was reading the manga all these while, i have the impression that Remu is a "female shinigami" (well... from the look it has, i just think that it's a female). I was so surprised when Remu in the movie produce a man's voice >__< so that's one bad thing about manga haha

Neway if you watched part 1, you shouldn't miss part 2!!! That's all then... i have to continue packing ^^;

oh yea, we, juz wanna tell you guys (who read this), i'll be at Perth for 1/2 year to complete my last semester... Flying off this Saturday (sad to miss CNY) but anyhow, hopefully i can be back on time to catch BO this year!!!

Finally had a chance to finish the movies. I thought the ending of the 2nd movie was better than the anime/manga ending. I also liked how Soichiro Yagami had a better role. Don't like the acting for Light though - the actor doesn't know how to lie and Light is supposed to be a convincing liar. Every time he pretended not to be Kira, the actor always looked like he was about to burst into laughter in embarassment.
