Funny no one mentioned this series.

I guess if people wanted to see a series about pirates of the South China Sea, they rather watch One Piece Shocked

I am pleasantly surprised at the hot maid action in episodes 8-10.

You mean you haven't already  Shocked

It's a neat show if you're into ultraviolence. Problem is, there's no likable characters in that show. For me at least.

However, Roberta is a paragon of maidhood. Once you watch that story arc, you will never need to watch another maid anime. Ever.

I watched up to ep 6 and decided to give up on it. The problem is that these people are immoral pirates who have no problems with killing people. And considering that Malaysia has a serious problem with pirates in the Straits of Melaka and off Sabah, I find it really difficult to root for these characters.

I finished watching this anime. Enjoyed it quite a bit. Tongue
Must have been the crude references and foul languages.

Yeah I wanted to comment about ep8-10 when you metioned about maids in the Coyote Ragtime Show thread. Like what rock says, "It's like in the movies, where a robot is sent to the past to protect someone; but without schwarzeneggar in it".

But after some time... it felt a bit flat as it was shooting all the way... The bit with the chinese lady near the end was fun though. Badly constructed languages.

Ah, the Taiwanese lady who mangles the Japanese language faster than she mangles her victims. I think she is easily the best character of the series.

Along with her pothead driver and Mr. Chan of course. Smiley

The driver seems to be high on crack even when he isn't.

Mr Chan seems to be a version of chow yun fatt . Tongue

Indeed. Though I've never watched John Woo's "The Killer"

Also I find it weird in the last two episodes that Levy is so cheerful with Rock, or with anyone for that matter.  It's like the director's going "screw character development, let's have fun instead!" Shocked

Mr Chan = Chow Yen Fatt.

Hahahahahhahha

Technically Revi speaking English all the time, so Shenhua must be speaking the accented English with bad pronounciation of r and l.

Recently finished all 24 episodes. Man, that last story arc. Not just the blood shed but the emotional cost some of the characters have to pay. This show swings back and forth between depressing seriousness and over-the-top action.

I find that there is more interesting characterisation in the supporting characters than in the central four dudes. The maid, the Russian chick, the english mangling Taiwanese assassin, the Interchangable Twins all seem engaging than our Rock and Revy Shocked

Still, it occassionally provides good drama if you don't mind the ulta-violence.
