Just remembered that members cannot post in the Official News Thread so opening this for feedback on the subject. Hello everyone.. My first official news posting since I took place awhile ago. As much as you all see me as a lazy slacking no good kid, I've been working on something.... special! Presenting.. the Anime Malaysia plans for 2006! First of all... The Anime Malaysia portal will be totally revamped to use a different system with a totally new layout! The system will be based on an existing open source portal system which had been heavily modified by yours truly to make it suit our usage more.. Among the features we can look forward to: - New redesigned forums! - Member anime blogs! - Member anime reviews! - Fansub releases updates! - Anime News! (OMG! We don't have this now! ) Secondly, I've been in discussion with Cloud on this, and just unofficially, I'm now announcing the 'Anime Malaysia Offline Club" (tentative name). This will mark CAM's first step into an offline club, where we will, for example, be sending out postcards and newsletters (just ideas) or have gatherings and even maybe member cards to go along with your VISA! One project that is currently being planned is to design an Anime Malaysia Club T-shirt. This is in really really early stages but.. we might have an Anime Convention this year..? That's all from me for now.. I'll go back to my exams @@ Ambitious, but is it workable?
Not that I wanna pour cold water onto it, but I have my doubts. (and I don't think I'm alone in this) :?
Is there enough people present to make it a success? You know most of us come and go, our gatherings are relatively small etc... Let the feedback roll in. And please, no spam. Keep it neat and simple for the admins to read.

Hmm...I pretty looked foward upon the new changes. It need more infomation & more news & members meeting in this site.
Particulary enough, the only improvement of this site is the attitude of the people. they not only have to be rational, but also have to be polite as well. ( If I have some time to reducing my work, eventually, that is sent so many unnesisary mail of course...)

And only just a few of us in the community, I don't know if there is really a point. Aside of that, if I am not wrong, AM has been "revamping" since 2004 but nothing actually has been done except the forum...

Our forum activities is not as alive, compared to CF even organising meet-ups is horrible in here!! hardly anyone response... only the same few ppl will turn up the only time we get to meet most of our dead n alive members is during Bon Odori/anime events
but on the t-shirt issue i guess the guys will enjoy wearing the shirt... us girls wouldnt like to turn up wearing the same thing as others... hahaha
on the offline club tat is possible since most of our dead members r not bothered to come visit here once a while, i update them on wat's happening here... which is nothing much... hahaha

I said before, not gonna spam this thread. -----
Anyway, I wonder... Maybe Akaru looked far into the future and he found that by introducing these stuff we'd be able to attract more people?

Yes, ignore the Chingbot.
Well, anyway, I think we should at least get the website up and running before we even think about the offline stuff. EDIT: Oh and what about getting affiliations with websites like comicfiesta.com?

They're planning to do the online part first. (well, for obvious reasons, it's easier to do) Anything else can wait.

Things can happen if we put more effort into it. Actually our club can consider as a general anime club or a 3rd party club. I was thinking about us being the middle man for CF but i think CF might already an establish company. Before we getting deep with the topic first we have to ask ourselves ...what is the different of our forum compare to other anime forums?? If we want to talk about anime , CF also talks about anime. So me must at least 1 thing different from them.

I say we get the site up ASAP, and make sure it has enough functions and features so people would bother to visit, most importantly, news of Anime/Anime events. Then, we start promoting it, and make the forum a place for the our visitors to stay and have fun, let the community grows, and then only we start thinking about the offline stuff. I remember what AM was like a couple of years ago, but now the main page has been down for too long.

Since The Star has a special section specially for anime/manga articles/topics, we should try to contribute something there or advertise our forums there to attract more people.
The anime/manga section is usually on Sunday on the last page of the comic section (if I am not mistaken)
