the only reality show i think worth watching is amazing race, the element of surprise is ALWAYS there...

survivor, well, when everyone had known how to play, well it is kinda boring, but sometimes it is good to watch (but almost scripted dont you think...?)

american idiot, sorry i mean idols... only the finals are worth watching... that is all

I too catch the Amazing Race.

The only thing I don't like about it is the constant "reset periods" where front teams have to wait for everyone to catch up when waiting for the plane/place to open etc.
It makes staying at last place during the duration of the race (before each pitstop) insignificant cause you know the front teams WILL eventually be stopped till you arrive.

It's all staged, pre-rehearsed. Once you realise this, it makes a lot of sense.

I watched a few episodes of American Chopper while Stateside last year. Pretty interesting. There are some copycats/close cousins out there too, like biker build off etc.
Generally though, I think the "reality" show genre is going too far. There's an overload of this kind of stuff out there. Some of it pretty tasteless tripe pandering to the lowest common denominator, eg., wife swap, where 2 families from different ends of the social spectrum trade their principal homemakers....

I prefer scripted dramas ...stuff like Desperate Housewives , CSI or Crossing Jordan ...
