Hi everyone!
it's been 5 days since I arrived in Japan on a business trip...
It's been ok so far. Communication is not as much a problem as I anticipated. Didn't get to watch much TV except for some boring naruto filler and a documentary about a cat torturer....
Japan is very cold right now *brr......*

Coooool... (Pun intended )

Watch tv? Try walking around enjoying the place instead.
After all, you can get the tv programmes off the net.

Aside from walking around Kawasaki City after work (incidentally, I finish quite late, like 8pm or so), I don't have much time yet to go anywhere. Maybe in the weekends. I'm going to Nagano on the CNY weekend, and planning to go maybe Kyoto or Kamakura later. I'm also going to Fukushima province in the north on a business trip (Snow Country!). Incidentally did I mention that I have 10 weeks in Japan? I have all the time in the world Tongue.....

Maybe we can read the real manga in Japanese!
We can get cool stuff there!

I wonder if the Japanese could react just like we did...

Familiarity breeds contempt.
Just like you, you've been born and bred in malaysia. If there's potholes on the road you would say biasa, people littering you'd think nothing about it.

Similarly, in Japan manga is already a common occurance in their lifestyle so don't expect them to go ga-ga over them, unlike us who might go slightly crazy over them just because we don't get enough of them.

I hope to spare some time for Kyoto...
I just came back from a day trip Aizu Wakamatsu somewhere in the north (snow country!)
It was a sunny day and the whole place was covered in brilliant white snow Tongue
