I just bought Midori Days (Midori no hibi) Vol. 2 manga from Kinokuniya. When I opened it though, a certain onsen scene had blotches of black ink clearly added on by the Malaysian customs.
Has this ever happened to anyone before? Rather odd considering that our neighbour Singapore doesn't do this kind of thing. If they find it too offensive, I'd rather they didn't bring it over in the first place (and I'll just hope over to Singapore to buy my copy - I prefer my manga unedited - thank you). Oddly also, Kinokuniya told me that the Malaysian customs wouldn't let them bring over Rahxephon vol .2 but I manage to get my copy at Anime Tech anyway.

Sigh..... This reminds me back to the years when i subsribed Megami Magazine from Kinokuniya. Around 1/2 of my shipments got tore at the h-games section & even the pin-up posters.
Surprisingly, when i changed my order to the Japanese Bookstore at One Utama inside Jaya Jusco top floor (i think the name is Maruzen), my Megami Magazine were always in perfect condition.
I think maybe the custom are being stricter with the shipments through Kinokuniya. piano_cello_conducting statements about Rahxeporn manga vol. 2 made me believe this is the main reason for Kinokuniya censorship.

10/5/2006. The miracle will happen once again in the winter.[/i]
Kyoto Animation – If there’s anime deity, then KyoAni’s its prophet. Absolutely the darling of the anime world now, for good reasons like Fumoffu, The 2nd raid, AIR TV,The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi and Kanon 2006. With KyoAni, it’s not anime, it’s art[/i].

I'm probably going to buy my remaining issues of Midori Days in Singapore. I'm kind of scared about the upcoming issues of Ai Yori Aoshi though. They haven't done anything yet but the next volume (12) promises a lot of onsen scenes and I'm wary of having my manga full of black ink.

Yes, the newer book of Negima is starting to get censored. No more panty shot, all blot out with either white paint or black paint. *cry*

I don't think 1 Utama carries Megami anymore. I tried asking there and the salesgirl mumbled something about Customs, censorship, not allowed, etc.

How do you ever know that people who blind upon the censorship and contreversy?
Like Hentai, the H anime & manga are pretty banned in the nation.
People also found that the customes, especially Malay are stricly prohibit it due to the religious issue.

oh yeah... H-rated stuff is definitely banned in this nation.
why those H-rated title's pops up is only coz they distributed those stuff in internet and local people (like us) recommended it to other people and a domino effect will be born!!!

Yeah, I think that you have a point. But the only matter is the people are often mixed up betwwen anime & cartoon so they are "just for kids"... (You can't blame them because they don'y know much about it..)
However, more motivations have to be done for the communities to differeniciate the genres of anime. People like KOSMO staff & readers are the fools who blind upon the anime genre!
If the Prime Minister knows it very well, things are easily under control!
