Lol. Just finished watching this. Been sitting on my hard drive eating up space while collecting cyber dust.

I'm not quite a FF fan (I hate RPG's) so I'm pretty much lost in the FF references here. But at least I still get the plot (Villian wanna revive abomination to destroy earth, hero does what he does best).
Story wise, there's not much here. Talk a little, then we start bashing people up for some time... Talk a little more... Grab a sword and start hitting people again... (repeat as deisred )
What (I think) didn't fit into the story was adding his gang of friends near the end of the story. They were not involved at all at the beginning but then suddenly they appeared to kick some demon @$$, then show us teamwork is vital bla bla bla. The part where they boost him into the sky... *sweatdrop*
Oh well... without them maybe Cloud could not proclaim "I am not alone" as the curtain draws to a close...
Graphics wise, this is pretty much as good as it gets. The 3d world look realistic (100% realistic if you live in a world filled with only models with no imperfections such as pimples and apply excessive amounts of makeup all the time.

), Battle scenes were nicely drawn. Nice lighting effects too.
Sound wise, we get bgm quite often. And true to FF tradition, the music is good... The sounds of battle are quite fitting too, from the gun blasts to sword bashing, motorbike roars and matrix style kungfu moves...
Characters... Memorable ones are the 2 guys put inside to provide comic relief (the guy called Reno and the guy in a suit?). Otherwise... Kadaj sounds like a japanese street thug from high society.
And I really don't get Cloud's 7(?) in 1 sword. Nothing to distinguish the swords, function wise. :?
In the style department, the ratings goes through the roof. (or as someone else puts it, poyo level 200%

) This OVA seems to be done to provide us the coolest possible fight scenes in a story (to cover up for the shortfalls in that department?). Maybe the Karas series (unrelated) being released now might give this some fair bit of competition.

Overall, a really nice eyecandy to burn away 100 minutes. Rewatchability is near 0 cause there's not much of a story here (unless you wanna see the graphics again, which is not suprising if you do). Recommended for action fans, FF fans and generally everyone (as a showcase of current animation capabilities). Not for those who dislike a flimsy storyline.
That's about it. Oh yeah wanna gripe about the ending. What's was the supposedly elite Sephiroth doing? Getting slashed like that with no resistance. Got distracted by Cloud's statement? Boooooooooo~....
