if you want to compare yourself to a professor, dude, u die 1000 times also u still lose ler... compare with others within the same level as you are and aim to be better. u'll gradulally move from 1 level to another level.

If you're really dreaming of brushing shoulders with the big guns, I'd suggest starting small. Try a local company first before taking your stuff somewhere else if it's good enough. (if it's good enough who knows? Others might poach you first. ) |

It's a different "genre"... FF style is striving for realism but is still an art form... There's a clear line too between trying to draw for realism (without CG) and drawing for animation... They are distinct styles so I guess they can survive on their own... (Not art minded so might get the idea wrong) Somehow I just like my anime and manga in the non-3D version. (ie not FF styled but of what we see currently) |

I wonder..... how you people..... perceive those 2D portrait-like.... "final-fantasy-style-drawings"..which....are heavily modified...with art programs...?
..do you think....such....drawings....cant survive..without ..those ..pencil-shadings...and ..digital..modifications? I don't get the idea why you have to get "Final Fantasy" involved in here. Final Fantasty style well, as you said, is a style whilst anime(naruto) is another. You have the rights to invent your own style but I don't think you should go on and questions what the others do to theirs. If you managed to get a sketch of any final fantasy artwork you will know it looks good enough without those art programs touch-up. On side note, no offence but if you really wish to improve on your drawings then I would suggest you to start making your own work already instead of making all these fanarts *cough*copies*cough*. |

You....are totally right...someone like me...should have already done some great anime ...and ..manga..instead of.....wasting..my time doing shit artwork here.....
..Frankly...I .must say...I ..havent come-up with a really cool and good enough storyline yet ...and I am lacking confidence in it .........its not easy to come out ...with totally new and ORIGINAL artwork...like Masashi Kishimoto says in one of his interviews...A good and interesting story is more important than nice drawings...
..and..I am not doing so..is tht ..becouse..I dont have people who,I think can really ..share and consult my ideas..and thoughts with yet...I am not working in any of those famous-animation companies like I.G production yet...my japanease is not good enough yet to do that...
...and I am still...not ready to lead such lifestyles yet...Its very stressful..sometimes..and maybe boring..you know..spending your whole day drawing..whether you like it or not.. LOL, I am not asking you to make a whole new anime/manga series. What I am trying to say is, if you have the time to draw these fanarts then why would you not have to time to make something of your own? And IF, drawing is boring to you then you might as well don't draw at all. Just my two cents. |
