uncle stormy>> wat is gunslinger girl??? i haven't watched tat one yet...

This sad, depressing anime, set in modern Italy tells a tale of group of very young girls employed by Italian Intelligence 2nd Section which publicly known as "Social Welfare Bureau" for covert operations against government targets. Broken, abandoned and often have no more hope to have a normal life, the girls are chosen to be modified into bionic operators, endowed with superlative human characteristics such as agility and strength etc by G-mans so they can be deadly assassin. Using non-popular killer memes, their mode of operation revolves around close inflitration and absolute surprise.

The reason why they use young females is because they were more obedient and less likely to rebel, compared to males especially children age. Not to mention, people tend to let their guard down since female child tend not to pose any significant threat. To control these souped up operators, each of them were assigned a controller who is responsible for well being. It is not surprising that the controllers is usually male, in order to induce love as means of control over the girls.

The story above which originally started as H-lolicon doujin by creator Yu-Aida, which later evolved into highly intelligent and emotional mainstream manga serialized in Dengeki Daioh followed by an adaptation by Studio Madhouse into 13 ep anime which concluded early last year. His love for Italian architecture and real weapons is strong, thus rendering an unique flavour to Gunslinger Girl setting. Cute and brutal, innocent yet morally dissonant, Gunslinger Girl asked essential question on what is morality and humanity means.

This anime is not for everyone, as subject matter presented here is highly disturbing. It is a homage somesort to shows like Luc Besson's Leon or Le Femme Nikita.

FRUITS BASKET!!!! so far, all the girls i know who've watched love it to bits!!! they can't stop talking about how KAWAII the characters are! it's a good way to communicate (i.e. start a topic) and enjoy looking at your GF thinking about cute stuffs and she, looking cute at the same time.

Fruits Basket seems popular with the female crowd, and if you read my post in the 'Anime for Party' section, I happen to think that Kamichu is a good choice as well.

Other good choices (because they are relationship based Anime) would be:

Hana Yori Dango
Marmalade Boy
Tenshi na Konamaiki (in some warped kind of way   )

...and what I can't believe hasn't been mentioned yet:

Kareshi Kanojo (KareKano/His and Her Circumstance)
This show really does go into all the little details of examining the relationships between young people and gets super extra marks from me because this is one of the few Anime where the English voiceover is actually SUPERIOR to the original japanese voice cast.

Some anime that came to my mind currently:

-Aishiteruze Baby
-Hachimitsu to Clover
-Peach Girl
-Maria Sama Ga Miteru Season 1 & 2

Basically, any relationship-type anime is good.

Kyoto Animation – If there’s anime deity, then KyoAni’s its prophet. Absolutely the darling of the anime world now, for good reasons like Fumoffu, The 2nd raid, AIR TV,The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi and Kanon 2006. With KyoAni, it’s not anime, it’s art[/i].

Maria-sama ga Miteru is kinda good in a slow way. my sis fell asleep while watching it. she said it's too slow, so what!!! i love it and i'm a girl!

Fruits Basket is definately good. all those bishonen running around and turning into animals. aren't that just make girls squeel?

He is My Master!!! for the jokes and fanservice!! A good one if your gf doesn't feel sick watching maid uniform.

The thing with Maria-sama Ga Miteru, guys can like the show for the right reasons or for the wrong reasons. Same can be said for girls. All in all, these factors that made Marimite anime l33t & have the potential to have bigger audiences than most ppl will expect. lol.

A quote from a website that have review on the anime:
"Everytime I watch a Marimite episode, part of my manhood dies. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has been victimized by this show so I'm not worried. This show may be turning me into a woman but it's concurrently turning me into a lesbian. Hey, it's all good as long as I still like girls, right?"

There are other interesting quotes from people that watched Marimite but this one is the only one that i save.

Heh, very interesting anime. If only i can get my hand on the manga. Any help?

yeah... lililicious.net is scanlating the manga.
the manga is following the novels same like the anime but with anime how much can screen time they can do?

i think elfin-san, it's about the way they interact with each other and the environment they are doing it... it makes me fall in love with them.  Cheesy
