Go for pc for low budget...

go for notebook/laptop for mobility...

I guess it depends what you want for me laptop is for anime, desktop is for gaming. I got lots of animes cos of laptops and some (portable hdd)= normal desktop hdd +  cassing.

I recon u get a cheap laptop(no brand) if ur woried about price.

It still comes down to what u want.

It's all depend on personal preference,as yzlu said laptop 4 anime & pc 4 gaming.Laptop for easy mobilelity so u can show/watch ur anime collections with ur friends while pc r for some hard core gaming,I use my pc 4 both Smiley ..1 thing must consider too...upgrade,choose a laptop that can be upgrade, like HD as some anime files can eat up HD fast. That all i can said...it's up to u.

I would go for desktop if it weren't the size.

They are SOOOOO cheap now. You can buy a dvdrw combo with just RM250+

If you know how to assemble hardware, it's best that you buy the parts and do it yourself. It will certainly save A LOT of money that way.

My friend's laptop got struck by lightning not long ago, and he decided to buy a new desktop instead of getting the notebook repaired. Dell charges too high on their repair.

ya,repairing or upgrading a laptop is a bit hard & brand name laptop can charge a lot for repairing & time comsuming.A desktop PC,u can jus send to any local pc show & they can repair it or if u know how to replace it urself.

my honest opinion and preference.... i have none.

if u tell me what kinda job u do, then i can help. of ur job just involves typing stuff or taxing (u r using word or excel etc...) and u wanna watch anime, go for laptop, provided that u like to bring ur work around with u. but stick to the cheper ones. a non-branded type is not recommended. if u go for a branded ones, go for models 1 or 2 years back. but take into account the upgrades it can handle. non-branded are harder to repair though the ones nowadays are much more customizeable.

if u r working with graphics, animation and whatever that involves massive calculation (like what im doing now) go for desktop. cheap? hell yeah!!! u dont need fancy hardware even if u work with CGA . hardware from two years back should still be able to handle complicated rendering without taking much time. comparing to what im doing now (making models fo game, rendering animations, working with graphic soft...), a desktop worth RM2k should be more than enuff.
