Then again, he didn't make them himself so I guess it's not really that amazing.
Out of curiosity, how many cosplay items do YOU own? Or at least have used in the past?
We're not talking about full suits here since the artcle clearly said 10,000 items and not 10,000 complete costumes.
For me I think the number is somewhere arround 100 to 200... which isn't too bad. Some of the costumes I've worn:
Mickey Mouse (6) - Pants, Vest, Jacket, 2 gloves and head unit. Amazingly enough my feet were too big for the shoes.
Everquest Bard (3)- Chestpiece, Helm and Drum. Was supopsed to be a complete Everquest Bard lambent set but I only ever completed the chestpiece and helm.
Ant Costume (7)- Bodypiece, Antenae, Tail Section, Gloves (2), Middle arms (2). Created for the musical 'Thumbelina', the Ant Costume had an ingenious alteration where we used clear Pyrex rods (borrowed from the labs) to control the 'Middle Arms' of our suits.
Sligshot Suit (12)- Golf Cap, Protective goggles, Neck Protector, Studded Vest, Kevlar gloves (2), elbow pads (2), Kneepads (2), Ammo Belt, Harness. Not stricly a costume per se, but I decided to include it since the suit was specially assembeld for use in games where my friends and I shot at each other with sligshots loaded with plastecine ammunition. I regard this as being equivalent to being a re-enactor.
Triad/Chow Yun Fatt (4)- Trench Coat, Sungalsses, Twin Gun Harness, Glock 17, SIG P229. Yes, I know Chow Yun Fatt normally uses twin Baretta's but I only had one Baretta at that time and my Glock and SIG replicas looked a lot better.
Tiger (the cat from An American Tale)
(4)- Black Leotard suit (2 pieces), Jacket, Big fluffy Tail. One of my least impressive costumes, but hey, I won 'Best Supporting Actor' while in it.
Golden Eagle (4)- Bodypiece, Helm, 2 Wings. The wings are worn over the arms so I can 'flap' them. This whole costume was made from gold foil so it glittered like you wouldn't believe. Was worn for a Parade through Manila. Arguably one of my earliest cosplay sessions since I was in the 1st year of grade school at that time.
This list doesn't include the host of costumes I've used in various church, school and family performances. So from here it's not surprising that the number can go past 100...
Now... where can I find that bodysuit again?
So come on... let's hear from everyone else! I'm sure you all have a lot of nice costumes to talk about!
