Does anybody here know how to make ordinary CD drives read DVD??? I really want to watch my set of DVDs but only my elder sister has a laptop with a DVD-ROM drive... pls reply asap OK  Cheesy  Cheesy Smiley

Though if you still want to 'convert' your drive, here's an idea:

Open your CD drive and throw out all the components in it.
Get a DVD drive, and then somehow replace its casing with with your CD drive case.

There. A DVD drive that looks just like your old CD drive  Tongue

Well, thanks 4 all of ur replies... sadly though, only my elder sister has a DVD combo drive on her laptop PC and I knew she would be with her usual stingy and cross attitude (got kicked in the !@#$% once by her) and this explains why I am so desperate to know about this... I DON'T WANT TO BE KICKED AGAIN IN THE @#$%^!!!

Why you don't try in www.lelong.com.my. You may find second hand DVD-Rom.
Last time I buy at RM 95, samsung DVD rom- new one, working fine.
And my brother win a DVD player after he buy a air-cond at Seng Heng Shop.He so lucky. Cool
