Studio BONES' 2005 offering of more sci-fi adventure. But Kawamori threatens this series with his Touch-Of-Death! Attack of the Cyberformula-Macross-skysurfing mecha! Suckitude approaches! But here's to hoping BONES' talent in making likable characters (FMA, RahXephon, Stacked Princess, etc) will save the series from its inevitable doom. Like the OP song though.

I always liked BONES style of female drawing. I think their females is one of the sexiest 2-D girl I ever seen.

Not too many female characters in this show though Plot seems like the standard Wonder Boy discovers a Giant Robot and saves the world against Evil Empire (again). Except that they surf. Lots of surf culture references. It's like Patrick Swayze does Gundam. Characters are fairly likable though (or at least not as offensive as those Aquarion people) with standard but well executed relationship arcs. Animation is mostly hand drawn, with little pretentious CG, but it's competent and consistent for a tv budget.

well i doubt that this show need any CG in its mecha... it is far more beautiful IMHO if they stick to what they have done so far... rumour has it that this anime is going to be long, i.e 52 ep... no wonder why the pacing is a bit slow (but still good though )

hmmm... Eureka really taking it slowly though... the pacing, although almost snail-like, nonetheless giving the chance for the characters to develop...
I dont know... the sub are not catching up to the raw though...

Eureka is said to be the next IN thing for anime this year. so far it's the top-rated screening in japan at the moment for new anime.

Yeah, this year's offering is pretty crappy but Eureka is an excellent show even in a good year.
Notice that they subtly change the OP sequence every 2-3 episodes? What strange imagery...

The part just before the chorus in the OP, they flash a montage of images; giving a hint of events past, present and future. The images change every 2-3 episodes but they are very quick, only a couple of frames, less than a second each.

Yaay, ep.21 is out.
Renton has achieved Shinji Eva Berserk Mode. This does not bode well for the series...
I wish Eureka would perk up. I can't have any prurient thoughts about her when she's acting all living-dead-girl-like.
