You could summarize it as a voice-chat system if I'm not mistaken. Tongue

Its much clearer than any other messaging program, and it can be used over firewall which many programs like MSN especially does not support. The conversation is being encrypted, so other people cannot listen to what you say easilly.

here is a link to it.

You can talk to people over microphone FOR FREE... electricity bill not included.

Is there any privacy protection for Skype? Since we can just add people into our chat rooms without approval and see all their history messages. Personally, not many people are using Skype. I wonder why?

Well, I don't have a functional microphone for starters... And not many people using them either. (maybe most people I know don't have broadband yet? Does this factor in?)

I use it but I don't trust it. Keep in mind that it is made by the ones who made Kazaa(a p2p software which is full of spyware.)

They said it's spyware-free but I am still feeling sceptical. Anyway, add me if you want, but don't expect to see me logging in much: Kellicros . I usually use it only when I have problem doing voice chat on MSN.

Sure Kazaa got a bad rep because of spy/adware, but that doesn't mean Skype is the same.

I don't have the need for Skype, yet.

Like I said, I am feeling sceptical because it is from the same developer.
