Or Gunbuster 2 for those coming in late.

Just watched the second episode last night. More lesbian onee-chan high jinx! Shocked  Loli panty shots galore! Massive small fleet scale action! Spermatozoa-like battleships! The admiral is the eyebrows-guy from FLCL! Shocked

More high-quality space epic fun from Gainax and the director of FLCL!

Dude, that's Aquarion. Those guys are the ones taking it too seriously.

Gainax, on the other hand, are the masters of pandering to the fans. It's fun! Cheesy

Yaay Episode 4!

The action keeps scaling up. I cannot imagine how big things are going to be in the last episode. Shocked

Interesting revelation about Nono though. Very interesting. I really did not expect it myself.

But the truth is no one is going to watch this show because it is neither prurient maid anime or moronic ninja anime.

Well, it's done after six episodes...

What a beautifully neat ending. Predictable though, from a sentimental point of view, but still nice.

That's my vote for anime of the year.  Shocked

I wonder if anyone here besides me has seen the original. Anyway, just finished this last night and while okay, I thought the ending lacked the impact of the original.

Anyway, I liked best the pseudo-lesbian relationship between Nono and Lark.  Grin

I'm almost beginning to wonder if you and I are the only ones that watch anime that was made before 1990. I'm starting to feel old....

Perhaps that's more of a good thing. Most of that 70s and 80s stuff was pretty crap too. I guess nothing really changes through the years.

Still I love how they tied the endings of Gunbuster 1 & 2 together. Now that is proper closure.

They could at least have had an epilogue - I felt the ending of Gunbuster 2 unsatisfactory.

Speaking of 70s and 80s, there were some really good stuff - ranging from Armored Trooper VOTOMS to Urusei Yatsura. I'd mention more but I'd be going off-topic in this thread.....
