Erm... got a question here...
Can anyone tell me the difference between a "letter of recommendation" and a "testimonial"? Or are they the same thing?
I'm trying to apply for Nottingham U (semenyih campus... UK too expensive. Tongue) and its stated that they require a letter of recommendation from my college... When I asked the staff at the office of my college they gave me a blank look...
My friend used the word "testimonial" and they instantly knew what to do.
So currently wondering if I should send a testimonial instead...

UCSI offers mass comm and arts..........
don really know whether its good...........

I'm teaching there and while I can't speak for those departments since I'm teaching in music, I have to say that UCSI's reputation puts it as one of the better private universities in Malaysia.

DD>> haf u try applying for PTPN? nearly all my colleagues are under PTPN....

letter of recommendation...testimonial....
yeah i think it would b the same...
except tat the testimonial must write good things bout u and telling Nottingham U tat u're worth it to be accepted to their uni...
it's like asking ur lecturer to write ur reference letter for a job application or uni application too...

wow,im also applying for nottingham malaysia,im applying for pharmacy,2+2 programme........
i remember in the application form it requires the reference letter and the personal statement.........
write about why u want to do this course or write about urself or the qualities u have in order to do this course..........
not all the courses  require u to write the personal statement but for pharmacy i have to write one.............
ull have to ask ur lecturer or ur department in ur college for a reference letter.........
go and check with them whether u need to write a personal statement........

Testimonial and reference letter is two different thing.

testimonial is a RECORD of all ur college activities, i.e; if you hold any special position in any clubs or if u had participate in anything. basically it'a a curriculum record.

reference letter is a letter written by your lecturer, stating what he knows and thinks about you.

'll need reference letter to apply for certain jobs too..
