I think I'll pass on this title since I'm not fancy about sports but what sports they play in this title?

The Sport for this one is American Football. (ie: Rugby)

The Anime is largely faithfull to the Manga.

Animation standards are decent but not really outstanding. (Hand drawn Anime... which is odd considering most titles have graduated to computer assisted) A little like Touch or H2... well... better than Touch or H2 but not by much.

BGM is also subpar, voices aren't too great and the sounds don't really stand out and seem scratchy (could be the subbing group... I have the one from C1... if someone else has the Saizen version, It'd be nice if you gave an opinion)

I think I am somewhat disappointed because I was expecting too much maybe. Certainly, I'll still collect this because I like the Manga so far... but it won't be as high priority as say Sousei no Aquarion or Dokuro-Chan.



For those who are undecided or have not read the Manga, Eyeshield 21 is a sports serries with a little less focus on reality than others of it's type. The story revolves arround the highschool life of Koybakawa Sena who is the typical runt of the litter but has amazing running and catching abilities.  Because he is a runt he is often the target of bullies and his life would be hell if not for the protection given by his childhood friend Mamori. As he enters highschool however, a senior helbent on making a name for himself in Amercian Football spots his talent and moves Hell and Earth to recruit him into the Football club. (he correct experession is 'heaven and earth' but I used Hell because Hiruta is considered to be a demon... watch and you'll find out why)

Rugby and American Football are two different things actually... although they have almost the same type of ball, but rugby is a bit more violent, yet have more pace... (scrumming is the best part )


Voices - THAT is the main drawback of this series... but the "huh? Huh? HUH?" brothers are really wicked :lol:
