Is all anime come out in DVD now???Why??

Iz quite expensive and i dun have money to buy anime.Every set need spent at least RM100++.
Besides,to finish one DVD,i need at least 5 hour,iz quite tired

VCD is better than DVD,it cost less and only spent one hour to finish one VCD,it would not pain my eyes

although i know DVD quality is better than VCD,but i still support VCD

Just be glad that you're not living in Japan where a single DVD containing 2 episodes is costing you around RM200+ each (wow, it's like you're paying RM100 per episode).

Kyoto Animation – If there’s anime deity, then KyoAni’s its prophet. Absolutely the darling of the anime world now, for good reasons like Fumoffu, The 2nd raid, AIR TV,The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi and Kanon 2006. With KyoAni, it’s not anime, it’s art[/i].

Wow, do anime DVDs really cost that much??? I got my complete set of Ragnarok the Animation DVD just by RM48... original, no pirate! Looks like I'm very, very, very lucky to get it with that price... that saves my money by RM147 if I want to buy the complete VCD set! Why???

if you want , I can put the VCD into a DVD.
So, 1 DVD can contain 18 episode...nearly 6 hours.
You want me to do ? which anime ?

I have done it on "Kaleido Star" , put 51 episode of VCD into 3 DVD.

After that, I just buy the stivker and give it to you as "Original"

My only anime in dvd are Princess Mononoke... Wonder why I buy it's dvd ? Well... because the DVD has many features... Documentary - "Making Of", Trailer and superb digital sound... don't to mention the high quality picture... it's perfect. Here in M'sia you can find the pirated cds and dvds... 4 month ago I visited Sungei Wang Plaza, I saw Ghost In The Shell : Innocent dvd were sell around Rm 10.00 each... dunno if it's still there or not... hemmm.... forget alredy which shop did sell it... gez* damn my 128 mb memory brain...  :?

2 Episodes only??? I watched the whole set (26 episodes, 1 ep = 30++ minutes) and finished it in one day!!!

Oh, as I recall, there are local companies who got the license to publish it locally... all I know is that all they do is the translation (which I always read it out loud when correcting it verbally!)... they got the thingy from overseas and publish it locally in short. Maybe that's why it's cheaper than fully imported anime DVDs and VCDs.

they bootleg from hk actually and claim as imported ori

thats where most dvd anime in malaysia come from

real ori dvd does not have so many ep's in a disc
at most they onli contain 4 -6 ep.
you get real high quality video. way different from the dvd anime found here. note the subtitles as well. if ur unlucky, u might have just bought a fansub.

good example is  PoT, put fansubs inti dvd and claim as ori

1st of all, bootleg HK DVD are NOT original. Period.

2nd, same can be said about the audio cd that came from HK or Taiwan, NOT original albeit the price is a bit cheaper than original Malay or English audio cd, because original audio cd (imported from japan) can range from RM100+ to RM400 (damn expensive and even damn hard to find here at music shops).

3rd, Original DVD (US import, havent saw JAP import yet) does exist, just it's rare, only at certain establish shops, usually older titles (thus a bit cheaper price). You can say that it's like looking for original PS2 or Xbox games.

4th, Almost all VCD also are NOT original, have insanely crappy sub because it's usually based on chinese translations (Jap=>Chi=>Eng by incompetent translators = insanely sucky subtitles). What i can safely assume is original localise VCD are the ones that have the weird big square package, the one that have malay sub/dub like Serial Experiment Lain, Vandread & Pretear (it still puzzled me why they translated this title, yes it is a nice anime but it's not mainstream and do Malaysians [excluding us the anime fans] watch this anime?). I do have my doubt on VSCAPE VCD (which cover titles like Naruto with BM dub, etc). I'd say it's not original, unless someone can prove me otherwise.

Conclusion, Malaysia is a pirate heaven. If you call yourself an anime fan, just enjoy downloadable fansub anime, dont buy the dvd & vcd crap here (unless it's really hard for you to get/dl/trade fansub anime yourself and/or you really want to watch it on TV), and save money to buy REAL ORIGINAL DVD of your favourite animes (from JAP or US if it's already been licensed there) via internet, friends or reputable shops.

Do your part of being an ethical Malaysian anime fan. Even if you start by buying 1 ORIGINAL DVD it goes a long way of supporting the people behind the anime that you love for. But, while you still cant afford the original, just stick with fansub & dont support the dvd/vcd sold here. Having a mentality of saving for buying the original dvd later is a good start.

All I know is I can't see the subtitles if I'm like, 2 meters away from the screen! I have Hellsing and Lain in this type of packaging.
