Even if you can't make an occupation out of it, you could still create manga on a small scale and sell it whenever there's conferences like COSMAS and CF to satisfy your interests... There's quite a number of people selling doujinshi at these events...

Who knows? If the demand is good you could try approaching publishers...

And maybe that's the start of a new revolution?

You know, this would be a great topic in the Fan Arts forum.

And it's "manga artist", not a piece of furniture.

Well, you'll never if don't try it first. See how people review on your works, if they like it then maybe you can start business!

However, if you just do it for fun or hobby, don't care about what other people thinks. Create your own future.

haha yes, i did think of approaching this industry as well but my parents were against it, saying this field is not practical in Malaysia and that you can't get much out of it. and so i succumb to the average -secured industry.

but i'd be really jealous of those who can go the way they want and challenge the horrible previous works of Malaysia's cartoon ^____^ but i'll praise them coz they are willing to take risk and change the trend

Loki, being a mangaka is tough job! like me sketching a picture or two is tiring enough. imagine drawing so many pics (with all the rough sketch, making a final draft, editing etc) not to mention your drawings must at least look acceptable. if you really want to walk this lane, you'd better be prepared for criticisms!

i guess there's nothing to be jealous about in anime. wait. i am jealous of people who watch more anime than i do hahahahaha!

anyway exploring anime early or late is not the issue... you're never too old to start anything! i started my getting into anime when i was like, 12yrs old due to Sailormoon anime on TV. i then proceed to buy the manga etc. oh yeah, if you want to count doraemon in, then it's around 9 yrs old hahahahaha!

well i think you better sdvise your sister to control herself. i just got my streamyx few days ago and started downloading anime ^____^ but at the same time, i have TONS of work to do -____- so my only choice is to download them first and then watch later. it's really hard to stop myself when i'm really really looking forward to watch them!!! That's life! >___<
