Kyoto Animation – If there’s anime deity, then KyoAni’s its prophet. Absolutely the darling of the anime world now, for good reasons like Fumoffu, The 2nd raid, AIR TV,The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi and Kanon 2006. With KyoAni, it’s not anime, it’s art[/i].

Nothing wrong with 'borgs and ninjas. We only have those shows who give ninja a bad name to blame... (koffkoff) Me? I'm a sucker for good action direction and nice graphics. Also, a slickly edited trailer won't hurt

Watched Episode1, the Overture. Spooge-tastic! Much Exalted-level swordplay! Good action direction indeed, the style is excellent. Pretty graphics also help make this the ninja fight anime to beat. Too bad the story/subs were almost impossible to follow. But it's so pretty....

Ep2 didn't have great fight scenes as overture. Now I'm starting to think the quality would go downhill.

Watched Ep. 1 and i have to agreed wth my friends that persuaded me to watched it about the score rating for Karas Ep. 1.
Animation/Graphic : 100/100
Music/BGM : 100/100 (Didnt give much attention to the BGM but "Selenite" song at the end give it a perfect score)
Storyline : 50/100 (Not because bad or bleh storyline, but because it's barely understandable at least by this point)
Poyo-ness level : 200/100 (Simply poyo, enuff said. From starting until the end, this episode is screaming of poyo-ness. For those who dont know what poyo means, ask those who do. Kinda hard to me to explain what poyo is but poyo is poyo. Heh)

By "Karas is poyo" you meant Karas looks Awesome on the action/animation side, attempting to cover the uber 'hampeh' in its storyline. That I agree with you.

Yaay episode 3. The story is finally beginning to take coherent form. Apparently there is some sort of Spirit (Youkai) War being fought over Tokyo and there's at least four factions involved. Problem is, two of the faction leaders look alike! So I'll just call them Right-Eye Yurine (controlling Otoha-Karas) and Left-Eye (or Star-Eye) Yurine controlling the yet unnamed Karas-chick. Also the evil pretty boy Ekou seems to have another Yurine in storage. People complain the plot is intentionally obscure. While it seems much is obsfucated about the motivations of the different factions, it feels like it is done so on the assumption that there will be concepts and ideas in the Spirit World that would remain forever incomprehensible to us Mortals. Sort of like trying to explain automobiles and cellular phones to a 3rd century Viking. Let's think a bit and interpret the story as it is and not just expect plot and exposition to be spoonfed to our lazy minds.

And in the back of my head I keep hearing Christopher Walken's voice shouting, "More lens flare!"

Just saw ep3. It was a lot better. Like FH said there were 2.. no, 3 Yurines. Interesting to find that Karas were appointed from people in ICU. So people in coma are much better battler than normal ppl?
Battle scenes were okay despite too much closeups & too far shots. But I liked it best when he transformed into plane flying inside the hospital! =D
