Im thinking of starting an anime irc channel so that all of us can have an instant chat instead of always waiting for replies even thought the person is online.

Heh. Reminds me of few years back when AM did have an IRC channel & it just full of dead people and occasional xdcc fserves.
IMHO, Instant Messaging like MSN/Yahoo are better fits for this role. Sure, in IRC you can chat with multiple ppl at the same time vs 1on1 conversation on IM but you can always open group chatting room when there's a lot of people online and ACTUALLY online and chattable. This is better than you enter IRC channel, saw around 20-30+ ppl/nicks there, say "Hi", only to get reply from 1 person 1 hour later, if there actually people replying.
Just my 2 cent.

Like what elfenrir said, get a chat program. Then you can just get our contacts from the buttons below our posts. :wink:

Chatbox means creating a small box somewhere around the site where anyone logged in can chat instantly there. It's something like a chat window for the site and is usually located at the bottom of a page... You don't need to install it but 1 thing though, anyone can see it... :wink:
