first off, this is the anime that sparked off the interest in playing Go in my two friends  secondly... I cant think straight eight now, so I'll leave at the first point and come back later  |

Go is a kind of japanese chess where you have two colours- black and white. the objective of the game is to capture as many of the opponents chess pieces as possible. There's also a calculation method to win the game. It's fun to play if you understand the rules.
If i remember correctly, the Hikaru no Go anime has a tutoring moment like Slam Dunk to teach those who are new to the game.

well for once, you could see Hikaru's character and skill development... he develops a rather cocky attitude towards Sai later, which was definitely a change for once... but I rather liked the rivalry between Akira and Hikaru... it is some sort of a healthy competition, and the efforts that Hikaru put in to catch to him |

The Anime is also finish .The anime finish until Sai suddenly disappear and hikaru start to play GO again because his friends help him to remember about Sai. What i want to see is they want to a tournament for China, Korea and Japan one.. :cry: The manga only show a bit of the tournament only .. ____________________________________ |

Like this anime a lot... the main character not something like most powerful character in anime like other anime in the end.... end with showing he still can progress further and i hope for ova or second part to watch he rech his goal, the hand of god( i think)...
i didn't know god love to play Igo.....

however,the drawer,takeboshi obata new manga"DEATH NOTE" is best too

yup i love this anime/ manga a lot too! Hikaru, Akira and Yashiro are my fav characters!
although i only know the very very basic of Go (i think same level as Akari as a beginner lol) and have no idea what happened in the games etc, i really enjoyed reading it because it's full of interesting things that happened. As for the japan china and korea tournament thingy--the Hokutohai, you can read the full version of it in the manga... the special edition of HnG only shows until the part Hikaru and Yashiro (not forgetting Akira) got selected as representatives of Japan. Can't wait for Yonha and Suyon's appearance in anime >__<!!!!!!
oh ya Death Note is good coz Raito is witty ... but it gets a little boring in the middle :?
