I buy a lot of the anime DVDs that are sold on the market and I'm sure that some of you do too. There has never been a problem with censorship in the past as what you see on the DVDs are basically what everyone sees on Japanese TV. I'm thinking that perhaps the censorship board is starting to snippy with their scissors with things they think will contribute to the moral decline of Malaysian people (apparently Japanese must be special since these things have been airing forever in Japan with no significant problems plus they have a lower crime rate than Malaysia).
Some examples. I bought a
Ichiban Ushiro no Daimaou DVD. The whole thing was edited beyond recognition to the point that 40% of the show was missing. I later bought another DVD in another shop (I bought this behind the counter - the clerk said that she couldn't put this on the shelf - I felt like I was doing something illegal while buying that

) and could see how much was being cut out.
Had the same problem with
Utawarerumono OAVs . Everything was intact except an onsen scene. Had the same problem with
Shin Koihime Musou: Otome Tairan. There wasn't even any actual nudity to censor (since the TV broadcast had some conveniently placed steam) but they mostly censored all the scenes with yuri innuendo.
Anyone else have problems or comments on this issue?
