Guys/ girls, for those of you out there... watch out for these companies. I often see them in newspaper and JobStreet too, and no kidding, you dun wanna be conned. Got most of these from the LYN forum. There were some funny comments tho

:
BLACKLISTED COMPANIES IN MALAYSIA. Since I have read some complaints from a Malaysia forum recently about Frauds/Scams/Incident related to Jobs and Careers.I believe MOST of the company are subsidary or related with DS-MAX.
You might never heard before what is DS-MAX all about and here I would like to briefly explains in this blog. Those company which are subsidary or related to DS-MAX are doing door to door sales job as you can see those "salesperson" wearing formal clothes and approach people in restaurants, shops, office, factories and anywhere to sell their products. These companies mostly CON those fresh graduates to do door to door sales.Their recruit people thru job classified from a local newspaper (The Star) by using a keyword which is "Trainee" (IT Trainee,Management Trainee,Account Trainee,Marketing Trainee and etc) This is their tactic to attract fresh graduate to come for interview and start the job on the next day.
For your information,DS-MAX stands for DIRECT SALES TILL THE MAXIMUM.

This is what users/ victims have to say:
Their tactics & The Truth
** Salary of RM1800-RM3000 during training and more after 6-8 months project. You won't get paid any basic salary
** Usually under the title of "Management Trainee" or "Executive Development Program". Your title is SALES PERSONNEL
** These are the same lines all Cobra Group companies use:
-- "Fresh graduates who are willing to be coached from A to Z of a company operation and hardworking- please try your luck!" Coached - Reading from same piece of paper, memorize it and tell strangers about it
-- "Promotion to Managerial positions with Regional and Overseas Career Expansion". Something like Amway's incentive tours to overseas IF you con enough people
-- "The person who think that they possess all the skills required to be a successful future manager". When they expand, they chuck you there to further con people and you will have no time for your personal life AT ALL
-- "No min working experience is required (Special on-the-job training will be provided)". They train you to talk to strangers and be beggars
** On your first day of your you will be briefed on company structure. Any AMWAY members will know this is the exact promotion structure Amway uses the moment they see it. Sales projection, get 3 leaders you become Team Leader blablabla.
** On your second day, just quit the job.
** You'll get a piece of paper on dialogues and you are expected to preach to strangers. I don't think we graduated to be beggars.
Interview
** First interview will be in group interview (suspicious?)
** Second interview you will follow your "evaluator" to the field, usually in front of banks and see what they do. They will tell you "This is to test how much do you want the job" and then ask you to do the same thing: Begging & Bugging
** Third interview will be on the same day of the 2nd. You will be asked to go back by yourself to the company. WTF right?
What they slipped
** One guy used the word "downline" and "upline"
** The boss comes into the office EARLIER than everyone and leave LATER than everyone, even his secretary. Somemore he dare to use the word "TIME FREEDOM" and then say he sleep at 10.30PM.
** The structure chart. Some people who never join Amway will not see it coming because the only direct sales company to use it is Amway, and Cobra Group is applying the same thing.
** No basic pay. Tell me, which PROFESSIONAL job (as they claim) doesn't pay their employees? Like that I also wanna be the boss lar.
If you have more info of this company or companies under Cobra Group / DS-Max, add it here as they seem to be running rampant all over Jobstreet, conning degree holders from Law to Engineering fresh grads. Sadly, these people think they are doing a great job, where in fact they are earning SHIT money and being brainwashed day in day out.
--------
It is a very good experience. You will have the chance being scolded, chase from the building, people looked down on you..Yes, indeed making shit money, but very tough..everyday sweat like hell..tired like pig...everyday learnt to preach, everyday being question, how come only so little sales? Preach more..preach more..practise more..smile more..smile more..not happy also smile..

Hey friends, i found that these kind of jobs keep on appearing in Jobstreets.com.
One day i purposely click on it and see lots of people (more than 1k ) click and apply it.
Could anyone do something such as writing an email to complain to job-street or Ministry of Labour to sue them for misleading the public and cheat the job applicants?
Jobstreet as the current leader of the market job finder shouldn't allow such incident to happen.
I had sent my complain to jobstreet and they give no reply. If more people sending will be more efficient.
Try to send your complain to

THANK god I decided to Google KENEVE GROUP OF COMPANIES, and came upon this forum.
Summore purposely register just to type a reply....
This morning, I got a call from some bimbo Esther, asking me to go for an interview at Megan Avenue, KL... for the Management Trainee position. Ya la, I admit the RM2500 salary really attracted me... Good marnee whurt... Planning to work and save $$, so I can go overseas for my Masters!! And also... to do some shopping larzz.... I also wanna go sushi buffet lor... Yumz!
So okay, very happy, got an interview tomorrow... Good mood all. Plan transport everything edi... asked my fren to accompany me just in case... ( U know la, nowadays so dangerous... esp all the rape rape die cases... zzz... )
Then, 11pm, so sienz... decided to Google KENEVE.
Came upon this topic... and went... WTF lor.
As I read more and more posts... the more and more pissed I became.
12am, called my fren, called the taxi man... dun care la u all sleeping o not... to CANCEL CANCEL everything.
Then I was thinking, should I inform bimbo Esther tomorrow that I wun be attending the interview? Scared ma kena blacklisted by jobstreet. Its very convenient compared to newspaper ads.
Blacklisting policy all BS. Very good. Answered my question straight away.
Actually, I also had my doubts and suspicion. No address provided No telephone no. provided as well in the jobstreet ad. And funnily ( now only realised... I know la I very tortoise )... that there's actually a FEW 'different' companies, posing the same type of management trainee ads on jobstreet! Its like, copy and paste the company profile and requirements. No creativity? Tsk. Retards.
ROT IN HELL la these scammers.
At least, I learnt a good lesson here.
And what is the lesson?
1. Always GOOGLE the company that you've applied for. Lub GOOGLE.
2. No company address provided? No tel. no? SCAM ALERT.
3. Any job postings promising high pay ( enuff for you to go sushi buffet every week and still got money to shop at Starhill ) is a SCAM.
4. Don't be a dungu. Greed is the ultimate downfall of men. ( This lesson I learnt BEST )
Sorry la... super chiong hei reply. Just feeling sienz... thankful... and sad cos no more sushi to enjoy
Hope u enjoyed my essay. Good night!!

i went for the interview under Dreamworks (nice name huh? i thot some kind of international movie company at first, got cheated!), for the position of "Event Planner / Management", then when they brought me to LRT station in Kelana Jaya during the 2nd interview, they asked us to sell credit cards to those passer-by. When i asked the so-called manager:"y is it like direct-sales and not event?", then he replied:"yala, this is the event we've been talking about and if u dun think urself as a sales girl, no one would." man, was i mad... i straight away told him that this job is not suitable for me and went home. One of their colleague some more called me everyday trying to lure me back to work for them... of course i'm not so stupid to step my foot in there anymore...

Wow...it looks like they're getting worse.
I got conned about a year ago. Went for the interview at Plaza Pekeliling and after a few days they called and told me there will be some training and if I do well, I'll be employed.
So I went to the office at 9am and they sent a senior with me to Mid Valley for the 'training'. We went there and meet up with another senior who also has a junior with him. And after that the seniors said.."ok. Lets start!". And we went to every shops and buildings outside to sell Disney cookies and cakes. We even went into banks and places where it clearly says no salesmen allowed and when people are having meetings.
When it all ended at 6pm we went back to the office and there was a paper test that asks us what have we learned today, skills needed blah blah and after that theres the final interview.
After the interview they told me that I got the job and told me that I will start work the next day. I was thinking of not going but I went anyway to see if I will be doing the same thing. And we did. We went to Mid Valley again and got caught by the security after chasing us down the stairs for a few minutes. After that we went to some mamak stall and sell the stuffs.
I still managed to keep going until the end of the day. That night I sms my senior sayin I have an emergency and cant go to work anymore.
-------
Wah, my gf went for a first interview with these conbuggers and the subsidiary company this time round was one Pangkal Jaguh (or whatever Jagung) Sdn. Bhd... As u guys mentioned earlier, the interview at their Wisma Goldhill office was conducted on group basis...
My gf only realized about this conjob when she filled up an application form that showed the Jamban company as a "Member of Cobra Group"... In fact, my gf mentioned that at the office, there was only the receptionist and no one else was there... The manager who came for the interview walked in late and was there solely for the interview, god knows which craphole he came from... The bugger then talked about those BS about company structure, their activities, clients including some rubbish about so-called charity work etc...
Anyway, my gf did not go for whatever second interview when she realized that this was a scam... Oh ya, forgot to mention that one Ophelia called her for both interviews... Did any1 receive calls from that conb*tch also?

One of the most common complaints about DS-Max affiliated companies is in their recruiting and advertising practices. Often the position is advertised as an "entry level management position", and claims to operate in any number of glamorous, competitive, high profile, industries ranging from pro sports and entertainment to 4 star restaurants and world travel, when in reality the position is that of a door-to-door salesperson who peddles pizza coupons, discount baseball tickets, 5 dollar umbrellas, designer knock-off hand bags, and travel alarm clocks, none of which the applicant will actually discover until they are out "in the field" with a distributor on their "second interview".
A common interviewing formula used by the independent sales offices consists of:
1. A very short first round interview conducted in the office of the manager. Typically in this interview the manager will briefly outline the structure of the business to the potential new distributor. A typical DS-Max manager will interview anywhere from 10 to 30 people a day so this first interview is usually short on detail and any prolonged question and answer sessions are avoided if possible.
2. A full day "second interview" in the sales field where the potential distributor shadows a current distributor while they attempt to sell their products or services door-to-door. This full day interview is an attempt to show the potential distributor how a typical day in the field works. This full day interview, like the first interview is purposefully vague on details and most questions are not answered fully or more difficult questions get passed on to the manager/owner to handle during the final interview. This is known within DS-MAX circles as the "Day of Observation" or the "Day of O".
3. A "final interview" takes place in the manager's office when the potential distributor returns after a full day in the field. If the applicant has any problems or objections, the manager may attempt to overturn them. If the potential distributor needs some clarification in order to understand the "big picture" of this business opportunity the manager will attempt to explain the business beyond just selling products door-to-door. The goal of every manager is to encourage the interviewee to start full time the very next day.
The name DS-Max is often used to refer to the whole distribution system that includes DS-Max USA Inc., its affiliated suppliers and independent offices. Each affiliated sales office is an independent and incorporated business.
This legal separation between the DS-Max supplying organizations and each individual office insulates DS-Max from any legal or financial liability should something happen within an individual office.
Because all sales offices are independently owned and operated each individual distributor and manager/owner reaps the rewards of and is both financially and legally responsible for his own business. The majority of all distributors work as independent contractors and thus are not paid a salary, receive no health benefits and are responsible for paying their own taxes.
The DS-Max system runs similarly to network marketing businesses but with several key differences:
1) Sales representatives (distributors) generally work full-time (often six days, 60 hours or more a week), relying on their sales for their primary source of income, rather than a slow transition from part-time to full-time.
2) The individual owner assumes the cost and advertises for new distributors and finds a mentor for them, rather than the distributor absorbing the cost of recruiting.
3) Distributors receive the products on consignment rather than paying for them up front and there is no fee for becoming a distributor.
The business only grows when new distributors are added. While DS-Max as a whole has grown quite large through the years, the vast majority of distributors and managers in affiliated distribution operations in the DS-Max system have not enjoyed success. In the 20 plus years of operation the Ds-max business model has generated some tremendous success for a small group of Vice-Presidents, or as they are referred to now, National Consultants, but the question of how many have found success in Ds-max compared to the number who have attempted to achieve success can only be answered by analyzing accurate, detailed records of these organizations and their affiliates. However the nature of their operations make it unlikely that such documentation exists.
--------
As for me, I joined JAG Group mostly because of who I got as my leader and because I was so desperate for a job at that point. What we were told about him (my leader) was that he had a PhD in International Trade and Business and is a great salesman. He told me and his other downlines that he was earning a few hundred thousand ringgit per annum in Hong Kong, drove a Lexus and had a girlfriend who's a famous model/singer now. He refused to name her. He had this certain aura around him, so at that point I was in awe of him. For the first week, I had no commission at all because I just followed people around to get training. For the second week, I was slowly trained to talk to people, but then the sign-ups were mostly done by my trainers, so they got the commissions. For 2weeks, I had to get up at 6am and would reach home at 10pm everyday from Monday to Saturday and I got no pay. When I got home, I had an hour to bathe, eat and relax, then I would have to spend another hour to plan for tomorrow's work and sleep at 12am. I am NOT exaggerating. I didn't complain, because I kept looking at the "bigger picture" as they liked to call it.
I would like to list a few aspects of this job below and you can decide for yourself whether you want to do it or not. I have no beef against them, so whatever I'm listing is the truth and is not prejudice towards anyone.
1. It is TRUE that if you work your ass off for nearly a year and are reasonably intelligent, you would be able to reach either a Manager level or an Assistant Manager level. However, the turnover of staff is very high, so if your downlines quit, you would suffer because all you worked for to train them would go down the drain.
2. The working hours is crazy. You would have to come early to the office, listen to people hitting gongs because they made sales, go out to the field for the whole day, come back to the office, have meetings with your leader and set your "Game Plan" as to when can you reach the Manager level. Real crazy and very tiring. If you are a very, very dedicated person towards your goal, go ahead and work your ass off, but don't complain.
3. In my honest opinion, this job is NOT suitable if you are NOT business-minded. I quit because at that point, it didn't appeal much to me to have my own business up and running under my own name. If all your life you have been wanting a business of your own and are willing to work real hard for it, you can try this. DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT for whatever reason join just because you don't have anything else to do because if you try harder, you can find jobs which will lead you more towards the true objective of the degree you have obtained or more towards your real goal in life. The reason I say this is because I saw not only a few, but a lot of people there who joined just because they graduated and couldn't find a job, but they got so pulled into the idea of having their own business that they've been working like mad for months and have nothing to show for. The reason this happens is because every single person there will talk every single minute of the day about having your own business and making it in life. Sooner or later, the idea will get to you because you've been hearing it so much and seeing people get excited over it so much.
4. In the long-run, this opportunity is NOT feasible. It is way more secure to start from scratch and get a job under someone else, learn the tricks of the trade and then open up your own business with your own capital. With Cobra Group, you may succeed if you work real hard for a year or two, but once you get used to the lifestyle, you've got to work even harder to keep the business going because it will only get harder from then on. As far I've analyzed there, since you can be demoted anytime from the Manager level, there is no such thing as financial freedom and time freedom once you're a Manager because you would have to work harder to keep your downlines with you. You may be able to buy a Ferrari and go home at night to Carmen Soo, but what's the use of that if you don't have the time to marry her and have kids with her and drive them around in your Ferrari? Catch my drift?
5. While I was under training with the other n00bs, we were constantly told that the aim of Cobra Group is always to make everybody a manager because managers get a cut of the profit. At one point I got irritated because the angmoh guy kept saying, "Cobra's aim is to make everybody a manager in the long-run. That's the bigger picture. See how generous Cobra Group is?" So I asked him, "Ok, let's say someday Cobra Group really is able to make everybody a manager and everybody gets a cut, but who's going to be doing the sales to get the profit in order for the managers to get a cut since everybody's a manager?" You know what he said? He gave me an evil smile, a real evil Doctor Doom smile and said, "There's always gonna be people who's gonna be stuck with sales." This shows that all that bullcrap about making everybody a manager is a lie, the true purpose is to train as many downlines as possible so that the current managers' profits increase and during that process, one or two downlines might climb up to be managers themselves.
6. In my opinion, the commission, even if you have worked for a long time is NOT worth it unless you're a supersalesman. This is because there will be a lot of cuts from the commission that they fail to mention to you during your first few days till you actually read the contract. In the contract it is stated that when you first start, part of your initial commissions will go into the Security Bond and they will only stop cutting your commission for this once the Security Bond reaches RM 1000. The Security Bond is to repay the customers if they cancel their subscriptions in the last minute. For example, let's say you sign-up a Streamyx customer for an RM88 package and when the installer goes to your customer's house, he or she changes his or her mind. In that case, since the form has been submitted to TM, the customer will be repaid the RM88 using your Security Bond.
To show you guys how much this cut is, let me give you an example. I was working under Streamyx. If you secure an RM88 package, you get around RM60 commission. I forgot how much it was exactly, but it was around that amount I think. From that RM60, let's say RM10 is cut for your Security Bond. That leaves you with RM50. Even if you secure an RM88 package everyday of the month including Sundays for 3 months, you would only get RM1500 per month and your Security Bond still wouldn't have reached RM1000 yet. Let me tell you this, if you're not an excellent salesman, even if you're a good one, it is very, very difficult to secure an RM88 package everyday of the month. Furthermore, I gave an example on RM88 packages which is already quite tough to secure to begin with. From what I saw in my group of 5 people, only 3 of them made sales in 2 weeks. The total amount of secured sales were 8. The leader made 4 sales in 2 weeks, another downline made 3 sales and the other downline made 1 sale. Me and another girl did not make any sales at all for the 2 weeks. That girl was working for 4 months already at that time. Of the total 8 sales, 2 were RM88 packages and 1 was RM150 package. The others were all small packages, e.g. RM40 or RM66. For those of you reading up to now, I hope all those numbers weren't too confusing
There are quite a lot of other things which made me change my mind, but I really got to get back to work, so I might write them some other time. In a nutshell, if you're a degree holder who's even remotely passionate about the field of study you're in, this is NOT the job for you. Even if you're NOT a degree holder and if you've never been totally crazy over having your own business, this is NOT the job for you. The only people this job might suit are those who have lots of savings to sustain them for a year or 2 and are those who want to build their characters towards working for a much better prospect ahead. To have this as a life-long career, is close to impossible, please treat it as a hopping stone if you're still so adamant on taking it. Thank you and please understand that it is not my intention to insult anyone of any group of people. I respected my leader a whole lot and C, if you're reading this, here's a message for you...
IF YOU WERE INDEED EARNING SO MUCH IN HONG KONG, DRIVING A HALF A MILLION RINGGIT LEXUS AND SCREWING THAT FAMOUS MODEL/SINGER, PLEASE GO BACK TO YOUR PREVIOUS LIFE AND LIVE COMFORTABLY TILL YOU'RE 95 AND DIE A PEACEFUL MAN OR AT LEAST ACCEPT THE OFFER FROM GENTING WHICH PAYS A HALF A MILLION RINGGIT PER ANNUM, FIND A LOCAL FAMOUS MODEL/SINGER AND GET YOURSELF AN SLK. PLEASE DON'T KEEP DOING WHAT YOU'RE DOING RIGHT NOW. HOWEVER, IF YOU LIED ABOUT ALL THOSE THINGS, THEN THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT YOU DESERVE. CHEERS!!!
